{"id":1066,"date":"2012-11-12T21:47:12","date_gmt":"2012-11-12T11:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bnerealestate.com.au\/?p=1066"},"modified":"2012-11-12T21:47:12","modified_gmt":"2012-11-12T11:47:12","slug":"platform-30-now-open-for-boarding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/migration.sellingbrisbane.com.au\/?p=1066","title":{"rendered":"The train arriving at Platform 30\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bnerealestate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/IMG_28421.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bnerealestate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/IMG_28421-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Platform 50 - Fine Chocolates - Station Street Samford Village\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1070\" \/><\/a>Samford&#8217;s Handmade Fine Chocolates &#8211; The Train Carriage, 30 Station Street, Samford Village<\/p>\n<p>On Station Street, past the Flying Nun Caf\u00e9, opposite the Samford Museum, you may have noticed an old railway carriage parked by the side of the road.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Young noticed it and her first thought was \u201cChocolate\u201d.<br \/>\nTo be fair, Laura\u2019s first thought most days is \u201cChocolate\u201d \u2013 but on this occasion it was a somewhat more practical thought.<\/p>\n<p>After much renovation, negotiation and other words ending in \u2018ation\u2019, the concept of \u201cPlatform 30 \u2013 First Class Chocolates\u201d is coming to fruition.<br \/>\nLaura says \u201cI loved the idea of a small Chocolate and Sweet shop in the village, but could never find a suitable home \u2013 then one day I saw a railway carriage being dropped off, and it all fell into place!\u201d<br \/>\nThe shop\u2019s main focus is on hand-made Australian chocolates and imported sweets, but Laura\u2019s other passion (besides chocolate) is handicrafts \u2013 and so a part of the carriage will be set up as a craft area. Laura explained:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know lots of people around Samford who regularly sew, embroider, cross-stitch and do other crafts \u2013 but sometimes it\u2019s a lonely hobby. By making part of the shop available to anyone who wants to come in and craft and chat, I hope people will come and spend an hour or two amongst like-minded souls \u2013 offering and receiving advice and (of course) munching on chocolates!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laura also plans to sell some of her unique hand-made bags in the shop.  \u201cIf you buy a bag, I will have to give you a chocolate to put in it!\u201d she explains!<\/p>\n<p> \u201cIt\u2019s very exciting\u201d says Laura. \u201cCrafts and Chocolates may seem a strange mixture at first \u2013 but I hope Platform 30 will become a meeting place as well as a shop, and with the caf\u00e9 and gift shop nearby, Station street will be the place to be in Samford!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samford&#8217;s Handmade Fine Chocolates &#8211; The Train Carriage, 30 Station Street, Samford Village On Station Street, past the Flying Nun Caf\u00e9, opposite the Samford Museum, you may have noticed an old railway carriage parked by the side of the road.
