What’s next? The menu at YaYa Bar and Eatery offers up new enticements daily, inspired by a serious love of food and drink, and the Buzzstop Espresso Bar is still brewing up awesome espresso and tasty, convenient eats.

Owners Jamie and Jodie have created a destination, a place to discover new tastes, take a little time and indulge yourself with wine and dessert, while wrapped in a comfy blanket.

Chef Sam Axton says he loves this rainy cold weather in the valley, and we wonder if it reminds him of his English home.

He’s been keeping the chill at bay with fresh baked bread and house pasta, and serving up specials like school prawns with lime aioli, or the heavenly braised beef cheek with horseradish cream, shaved parmesan and grilled sourdough.

The bar hums with classic cocktails reworked just for thrills, and steady favourites like sangria and ‘Jodie’s pink lemonade’ by the jug.

The best news is with YaYa open seven days for breakfast and lunch, fans of older sibling BuzzStop, have more choice than ever before.

Choose from BuzzStop’s popular range of brunch bagels, Turkish breads and big salads, or be enticed by YaYa’s range of breakfast meals, and lunch staples like the sand crab pasta or wagyu burger with handcut chips.

Wash it down with one of 30 exclusive wines by the glass, an expertly made espresso or fresh squeezed juice.

The ever-present tunes catch the spirit of YaYa and BuzzStop; where else would Marilyn Monroe rub up against The Rolling Stones? Just like the delicious food, you never know what’s next!

The YaYa Bar and Eatery is at 37 Main Street, Samford Village, open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, dinner until late from Wednesday to Sunday. For bookings and enquiries phone 3289 5552.

The Buzz Stop Espresso Bar is open Monday to Friday from 6am, and Saturday and Sunday from 7am. For orders and enquiries phone 3289 5555.

  • Home values rise for first time in 5 years in US

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Home prices hit a bottom and are finally bouncing back, according to an industry report released Tuesday.
Nationwide, home values rose 0.2% year-over-year to a median $149,300 during the second quarter, the first annual increase since 2007, real estate listing site Zillow reported. Prices were up 2.1% from the first quarter.

Even though June marked the fourth consecutive month of home value increases, overall home prices are still down almost 24% since April 2007, when Zillow began to track home values.
“[I]t seems clear that the country has hit a bottom in home values,” said Zillow’s chief economist Stan Humphries. “The housing recovery is holding together despite lower-than-expected job growth, indicating that it has some organic strength of its own.”
Last winter, Zillow projected that the housing market turnaround would not arrive until the end of the year.
Other home price indexes have also recorded gains lately, including the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index. In it latest release, it reported that home prices in 20 major markets rose 1.3% in April, the first monthly increase in seven months.
